I've had a pretty good experience with the Umeed gay app overall. Like most dating apps, it has a mix of people—some are looking for serious relationships, others are interested in friendships or casual connections. I've had some genuinely interesting conversations with respectful people, and it's been a good way to connect with other gay men I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. Of course, not every interaction has been a great one. Sometimes conversations fizzle out or people don't respond.
