About this game

From the makers of the Persona series, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is the latest entry in the three-decade-long Megami Tensei video game franchise; bringing its dark themes, thrilling battles and mysterious storylines to life, to mobile platforms!

Take on the role of a Devil Downloader, also known as a Dx2.
Dx2s are able to summon and command demons using a special smartphone app.

Led by a mysterious man, you gain access to this special app and become a member of the Liberators, a secret organization that fights to protect the world from an opposing faction of Dx2s.

The enemy is known only as the Acolytes.

Driven by their own ideology, the Acolytes abuse their demon-summoning capabilities to wreak chaos, and are secretly eliminating people with high empathy quotients (EQ) who pose a threat to their goals.

Ratings and reviews

While the game seems like it might be enjoyable, the tutorial is far too intrusive. After clearing what I thought was the tutorial, and getting rewards for clearing it, I still cannot play without this game holding my hand (Example: Cleared the "Party" mission, but then I'm forced to only use the predetermined "random draw" and the game kicks me back to the title for attempting to use the other demons). I wanted to play a game, not follow instructions for an hour. This is SMT, right?

this is a great game if you want a mobile game with actual fun gameplay. but the powercreeping is a bit wild and the store stuff is incredibly overpriced. the pvp is basically get lucky with summons or pay-to-still-lose. the pass thing is pretty inconsequential as well. it would be very cool if they added a demon trading system (maybe like 1 trade per month or so) but there doesn't seem to be any evidence that will ever happen.

The game will NEVER let go of your hand ever or let you experiment for the first few hours (!!!). Literally nothing but the Press Turn system and Demon Fusion need explaining and yet the game refuses to let you think for yourself in a franchise thats known for throwing murderous spanish skeletons at its players to make them learn essential game mechanics.
