■ Main Features
・Account Opening (Self/Child)
You can open a Japan Post Bank general account without a passbook in as little as an instant.
*If confirmation of application details is required for account opening, it usually takes about two weeks for notification of the confirmation results and for delivery of a cash card.
*Customers who already have a Japan Post Bank general account cannot open an account.
*Child accounts are only available for children under the age of 15. The procedure can only be completed by the child's legal guardian.
・Declaration of Customer Information
You can declare your latest customer information when you renew your residence card or when there is a change in the purpose of your transaction provided to the bank.
・Address/Name Change
If your address or name changes, you can immediately change the address and name registered on your account.
*A cash card with the new name will not be issued.
*You can also change either your address or your name.
・PIN Re-Registration
If you forget your cash card PIN, you can re-register a new PIN and use your account immediately.
・Passbook/Card Reissue
You can apply for a passbook or cash card reissue in the event of loss or theft.
*A designated fee will be charged depending on the reason for the reissue.
■What You Need
・Smartphone (with a camera and IC chip reader (NFC))
・Personal Identification (Driver's License, My Number Card, or Residence Card)
*For foreign nationals applying for an account, please apply with your Residence Card. You may also be asked to submit a photo of an employee ID or student ID.
*Depending on the transaction, some forms of identification may not be accepted.
■Customers Who Cannot Use This App
・Corporate and Organizational Customers (including individual customers using an account for business purposes)
・Customers under the Adult Guardianship System
・Customers Not Residing in Japan
*Even for customers other than those listed above, this app may not be available depending on the application details and account status.
■Notes
・Only individual accounts will be accepted from the account holder themselves (excluding applications for opening a child account).
・Accounts opened using this app are general accounts without passbooks. If you wish to switch (revert) to an account with a passbook, you can do so at an ATM with a passbook carryover function. If you do so within two months of opening your account, there is no switching fee for the first issuance. However, if you switch after two months, a fee of 1,100 yen will be charged per account.
・This app does not register your seal when you open your account. If you need to register your seal for purposes such as utility bill withdrawals, please bring your cash card, the seal you wish to register, and photo identification to your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter after opening your account.
・The app is not available between 11:50 PM and midnight.
・There is no charge for using this app. However, you are responsible for any communication charges incurred during download and use.
・Some procedures may not be possible. Please check the notes displayed within the app.
