In memory of Mr. Lim Lian Geok, former Chairman of The United Chinese School Teachers' Association of Malaysia, a fund was set up by 15 Chinese organisations on December 28, year 1985. It was registered as a non-profit company under the name of LLG Cultural Development Centre Berhad in the year 1995. The main objective of LLG Centre is to commemorate the late Mr. Lim Lian Geok and to assist in achieving such aim by all lawful means and instruments, inclusive of constructing a memorial hall, publication of books, magazines and journals, organizing talks, seminars and exhibitions etc.

The Lin Lianyu Foundation was established on December 28, 1985 in the name of Lin Lianyu, a great man in Malaysian Chinese education and a pioneer of civil society. The main purpose is to commemorate Mr. Lin Lianyu and carry forward the spirit of Lin Lianyu. The Lin Lianyu Foundation was registered as a non-profit limited company "LLG Cultural Development Centre Berhad" in 1995, and its key work includes a series of activities for the Chinese Education Festival, symposiums, forums, academic and cultural activities, the establishment of memorial halls, data collection and publication, etc.
