About this app

The ASTRA Companion application allows the user, through the establishment of a Bluetooth connection with a Phonopull system from the ASTRA company, to obtain control over practices and competitions related to the sport of clay pigeon shooting, in the American trap modality.

This application offers some features, among which the following stand out:

• Cold Track (Slider): As a safety measure, it disables any possibility of interaction with other buttons on the screen referring to the test control, including the occurrence of plates being launched, both through manual buttonholes and through voice command ;

• Hot Track (Slider): Enables the possibility of activating the dish launching machine through a manual button. Enables user interaction with the other buttons on the screen related to test control. The user must wait a period of 5 seconds for this function to be enabled;

• Cymbals Count (Icon): As it is responsible for sending all trigger signals to the cymbal launcher, the phonopull system is able to count the number of cymbals launched and make this metric available for user/club control shooting, keeping a record in the internal memory of the mobile device used;

• Sensitivity Control (Icon): Alteration of the activation logic internal to the micro controller in order to make the voice capture more or less sensitive for the user;

• Trigger Time Control (Icon): After capturing the sound signal and determining the activation by the microcontroller, the ability to establish a fixed or random time between zero and a finite time value. If this function is not enabled, the trigger time will always be immediate;

• Standard button control functions: On-Off and Manual Override Buttons in virtual format that replicate real operation.

Prior to the first connection, the user must scan the QRCode associated with the unit he wants to connect, in order to avoid parallel communication between devices. Once scanned, the user will be able to make the Bluetooth connection. The respective QRCode must always accompany the product. If the code is lost, ASTRA will provide all necessary recovery assistance.

While the application is running, the cell phone's sleep function is deactivated so as not to interrupt the test control by turning off the screen or reducing the brightness. The American trap modality now has, for the first time, all the control of the test, which can be performed by the judge through a wireless connection. In this case, there is no cabling entering the shooters' passageway, exempting them from any risk of falling. This mobile application also has the advantage of its easy handling within the range region due to the lack of a wired connection, allowing the judge or coach/instructor to carry out, with proximity, individual guidance to the shooters with all the control in the palm of the hand.

When the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection is deactivated or lost, the ASTRA phonopull system goes into stand-by mode, offering security against undue triggering of the launching machine. Once restarted and operating in wired format, it is enough to make a new wireless connection through the smartphone, without the need to rescan the previously read QRCode.
