About this app

Addinex is a system used with special mechanical only medical medication dispensing devices. Each dose has a different password. The devices have no firmware or electronics, so there is not Bluetooth, wifi, or equivalent communication. The app provides a passcode for such devices, on a timed schedule set by the physician.

Please see the attached IRB approval for research and human subject study. Also, see sample patient consent forms, secured outside of the app. The device (and thus login info) is only provided to participating and waivered/approved patients, so only they will have access to the application.

FAQ:

How are passcodes generated, who sets them on the devices?
An: Passcodes are generated mechanically during each device creation/manufacturing. The devices are one time use, so a researcher simply loads them once, and the passcodes are already preset ahead of time. Similar to how a masterlock comes with a password on the back of it, we have an array of 28 passcodes that are saved in our DataBase (unique to each device) that are fed to the user at a time interval designated by the researcher, when the request one.

Who puts the medication into the dispensers?
Our company is currently targeting researchers, and we have 2 contracts in play with 2 major universities on the east coast. The devices are loaded by the researcher, with what ever medication they want. They use our web portal to set the timing rule set for each device/prescription. The researchers receive empty devices (ready to load) and what they put into the device, can be anything. At the moment we are focused on studies, not commercialization of the product for everyday use.

Does the app track dosages dispensed from the dispensers?
The device communicates to our api to create "Dose Request" fields, which are stored both on the device and in our database. The storing of dose requests allows us to have offline mode where we allow the user to dispense one (for now) passcode, even with no internet access. This is done by archiving any actions done in offline mode, to be synced with our api server once the user goes back online.

Are Dosages allowed even if the pain reported is low?
Yes, the researcher sets the rules for timing, and a dose is delivered regardless of pain level, as long as it is within the time frame.
