About this app

The AlterLock app works in conjunction with the theft prevention device "AlterLock" to keep an eye on your beloved vehicle, including bicycles, motorcycles, and cars. The AlterLock device provides peace of mind through loud alarms, smartphone notifications, and GPS tracking capabilities.

Key features include:
1. Alarm to Deter Thieves: A movement-detection alarm sounds directly from the device, deterring criminals and providing a strong deterrent against theft and vandalism.
2. Smartphone Notifications for Assurance: If the device detects movement, it will send a unique notification sound to your smartphone, allowing you to quickly notice and rush to your vehicle.
3. Independent Communication Function: The device can communicate on its own, sending notifications and location information even outside the Bluetooth range.
4. Advanced Tracking Ability: It attempts to pinpoint location information indoors and outdoors by receiving not only precise GPS signals but also Wi-Fi and cell tower signals.

Additional App Functions:
- Register photos, specs, and frame numbers of your vehicles.
- Toggle the device's lock mode.
- Adjust various device settings (detection sensitivity, alarm patterns, on/off, duration of sound, regular communication, accident detection, etc.).
- Display tracking location information and history on the map screen.
- Manage up to three vehicles and devices.

Title: Very Disappointing Experience – Unreliable App Makes the Device Almost Useless I purchased the Alterlock Gen3 after previously using the Knog Scout, and unfortunately, this has been a huge disappointment. The hardware itself seems fine, but the app is full of issues that make the product unreliable and frustrating to use

This app is always sending me random notifications that and making sound, but the funny thing is, when the bike is actually triggering the alarm, the app doesn't make a sound. I wish there was a function to stop the useless notifications from happening and actually alarm me when it matters. Also when the alarm is triggered, I have no clue how to actually use the GPS to find my bike, but maybe I am missing something.

I had the worst experience possible with alterlock. You pay £118 basically for just the alarm. The device fails to alert your phone if your bike is stolen as the sigfox does NOT have universal coverage. It is an expensive tracker that is basically useless. Alterlock are wrong to sell a product that they knowingly know does not serve areas that they send the device to and then to insult to injury they avoid refunding you. I'm going to alert the ombudsman about what is basically an elaborate con!
