Answer Short Question is one of several question type in PTE / PTE-A (Pearson Test of English Academic) English test. PTE Academic measures your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a single, short test.
Answer Short Question - PTE is the most flexible and efficient app that provides list of short question and answers. Improve your short answer questions capability from anywhere, anytime from the world. It contains the large set of short answer questions.
Another advantage of having this application in your smartphone is that this application is offline and will not require internet connection.
This question type will assess your Listening and Speaking skills. There will be 4 to 5 Answer short question in the PTE test. Each question will have 3-9 second time and you will be given 10 seconds time to answer.
How to answer this question
For this item type, you need to reply to the question in one or a few words.
The audio begins to play automatically. You may also see an image.
When the audio finishes, the microphone opens and the recording status box shows “Recording”. Speak into the microphone immediately (there is no short tone) and answer the question with one or a few words.
You should speak clearly. There is no need to rush.
Finish speaking before the progress bar reaches the end. The word “Recording” changes to “Completed”.
You are not able to replay the audio. You are only able to record your response once.
Scoring
Your response for Answer Short Question is judged on your ability to understand a question presented in a recording and provide a brief and accurate response. Your response is scored as either correct or incorrect based on how appropriate the words in your response are. No credit is given for no response or an incorrect response.
Test tips
- Do not pause for too long when you answer the question
- Do not try to give a long answer
