The APP Through is a tool created to make everything that revolves around the new pastoral care of adolescents in the diocese of Milan usable and agile, to support educators and youth leaders in thinking, planning the paths of children in oratories, groups and in the various youth realities.
It is a new method: the experience lived together with adolescents and their questions is central, it develops in the context of the pastoral year, following the liturgical times, to accompany the children in their relationship with Jesus.
The project, like the app, represent a bridge on which to walk, consisting of four pillars and a biblical icon that build meaning. In the same way, they indicate a different approach than the usual approach in that it starts with questions and an experience to live with the children: the heart and the novelty of this new pastoral care for adolescents are precisely these two aspects, to plan "from below" rather that from the simple theme considered interesting at that time "by the directing group". And trying to look at things from the point of view of adolescents it is clear that the gaze of educators also changes, to whom we ask to be attentive to each child in the construction of each one's personal project and consequently to their own training as educators. In fact, the app contains a series of tools for orienting oneself as trainers and trying to observe others, bearing in mind the possible skills and some particularly significant areas (five ways) to cross and develop along the way.
In addition, a series of constantly updated playlists are available to draw on ideas, materials and to deepen these five vital areas during the year. Finally, some precious links to the Ambrosian liturgy and to a comment on the readings and the Gospel of every day, and all the diocesan events / appointments dedicated to adolescents and / or their educators.
The app will therefore help all those who work with adolescents starting from their questions, build meaningful experiences with them and reread them to make sense of their own journey. Not a completely deconstructed but modular path, designed over five times and divided into five areas to explore. To facilitate this change of pace, there will be all the necessary training and planning supports.
