This application collects over 200 proverbs and sayings from Lodi for which vocal reading and a short translation / explanation in Italian are provided. No Internet access is required during use, so it also works "off-line".
Thanks to the peculiarity of being able to listen to proverbs and read their translation, it can also be interesting for those who do not speak or understand the dialect of Lodi.
To make it easier to consult, the proverbs have been grouped by "topics", but the possibility has been given to carry out a "global search" on the entire list.
This application is not intended to collect "all" proverbs, nor all the variants, but only to keep a trace of something that until a few years ago was the common heritage of the people of Lodi and, today, is disappearing a bit. Only the proverbs that have been part of my experience are listed. These are therefore proverbs that I heard in my family or from friends and acquaintances and which, still today, I often use in my daily life. I am aware that both the text and the pronunciation may have different shades even in the various districts of Lodi.
As for the spelling of the dialect, which by its nature is not "written", I considered an approximate transcription sufficient, considering that the application provides the vowel.
