About this app

Default Instructions:
- Navigate to an app that allows you to play in the background or stream via "Google Cast"
- Use "Google Cast" to stream to a device of your choice
- Switch to this app and use normally
- (optional) Enable your device's screen blocking feature to avoid accidentally exiting out

TiVO Installation Instructions:
- Change the "Device Type" to TiVO
- Find your TiVO's IP address
- Configure the IP under Settings
- Enable "Network Remote Control" on your TiVO
- Choose a "Current Action" that defines what you want the remote to do.

It's recommended to use a screen blocker to restrict the app from being quit out of while in use.

Big-B was tested my 4 year old daughter with special needs. It's designed to be a single action activity to empower autonomy in my little one. It features:
- Bright & Contrasting Font Color for visual impairment
- Visual response when the button is pressed and released
- Configurable delay on how frequent the button can be pressed
- Customization of the text displayed for the action. Defaults to "SKIP"
- Customization of the text colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- Keyboard support for added accessibility (map a key, or all keys, to the action)
- TTS for audio queues and feedback / learning

Useful single device actions:
- Skip Action for YouTube on TiVO (combo select/skip)
- Change to Preset Channel (rotates on a round-robin list)

Multi-device actions (run the app on multiple devices):
- Channel Up/Down

Big-B is designed to be the most inexpensive assistive device for controlling your media needs. It was designed to assist my little one with Cortical Visual Impairment (CPI), Cerebral Palsy (CP), and hearing loss. It is designed to be right to the point with no fancy splash screens or delays in getting setup. The TiVO mode is currently the quickest (just open and go), but getting setup to use it with background apps and media is only a few taps away.

My plan is to support multiple device types and different single button activities as time and the technology allows. Some additional plans are in the works to make the setup more automatic, but if you have issues, feel free to reach out. Big-B is designed to be light weight, so there's no advertisement or overhead except for crash collection (which hopefully won't happen).

By the way, Big-B is short for "Big Button". There's a lot of those around this house. :)
