As per the directives of the Government of Punjab since 1999, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has been conducting the combined Entrance Test (ECAT) for admission to public sector engineering institutions in Punjab. According to multiple notifications issued by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), this entrance test is mandatory for admission into undergraduate engineering programs in both public and private engineering institutions.
