New technologies today provide a number of innovative learning methods that, in addition to the traditional form of acquiring knowledge from various fields, can further positively affect the learning process, more precisely increase its efficiency and motivation of participants. Accordingly, there are more and more multidisciplinary collaborations that result in software solutions / applications intended for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in various fields. This form of learning implies the availability of attractive content implemented in the software solution and provides users with new dimensions of learning. This software solution was developed in cooperation with three components of the University of Zagreb, namely the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. The goal was to develop a software solution that will increase the level of quality and motivation of dental students in the learning process related to endodontic dental treatment. In this area, in addition to the theoretical part, it is crucial that students can visually experience the problems of each tooth, which in an interesting way and realistic presentation (using the model of real teeth) was implemented in the software solution.
Students are enabled to, in addition to the theoretical part related to endodontic dental treatment, through a knowledge quiz composed of different types of questions and possible answers (eg typing answers, selecting offered answers such as correct / incorrect or selecting a tooth by pressing a specific tooth / teeth in the displayed image of the teeth on the screen, etc.), in a very clear and attractive way gain insight into various issues in the field of endodontics and the application of endodontic dental treatment. In addition, through this software solution, students are given the opportunity to get acquainted with EndoActivator (sound-activated channel flushing) and SWEEPS technique (laser-activated flush), where, in addition to the theoretical part, video materials are implemented in this software solution.
