FarmIT Mobile is designed to allow farmers who are using the FarmIT 3000 desktop application to view and record farm animal and field management data whilst out and about on their farms. It is a business orientated application that does not use any personal data or access any user data on the device other than data entered by the user into the application.

This application is only intended for use in the UK, as it targets UK agricultural needs, however the animal and field data may be appropriate in other regions of the world.

The application is NOT designed to work as a standalone system. It is designed to work as the data collect extension to the Farm Business System You need to be running the FarmIT 3000 Software and have a FarmIT 3000 online account. Account security detail are issued by Border Software Ltd and are required for the application to collect and synchronize data,

Farm businesses may use the application free of charge and may use multiple devices simultaneously by multiple users.

The application synchronizes the animal and field data with the FarmIT 3000 online server which in term is synchronized with the Farm Businesses management computers.

Mapping data relating to farm fields may also be managed in the application, which uses Google Maps as its platform. Field data may be record using GPS if the mobile device has a GPS receiver, thus allowing field objects such as gates, fencing etc to be recorded with the GPS coordinates. For this reason the application will use the 'Location' data from your mobile device.

Animal data includes breeding, performance, movements and medical treatment data. Animal treatment data may also include a photo of the animal or infected area which is why the application uses the device camera.

The data is stored in the applications specific folder. If the application is uninstalled the data is deleted. The user should insure his data has been successfully synchronized with the server prior to uninstall if the data is critical to the business.

The application uses secure HTTPS protocols to synchronize data with the server. This is initiated by the user when and only when the user starts the synchronization process. We recommend doing this when the device has a local WIFI connection rather than a mobile data connection to avoid using your mobile data.

The process uploads data and downloads data, for example the latest information on the animal or field data updated by the farm business computers.

Animal Electronic Identification (EID) may also be used with the application. This may require Bluetooth to communicate with the EID readers. Please contact us is you require further information regarding suitable EID Readers.

Weighing Equipment may also be used with the application. Again communication is via Bluetooth.

Farm diary and daily tasks allow the user to record farm events or be assigned tasks by the farm management, for example fixing at gate, checking a field, or moving livestock. Daily tasks may also include a GPS location.
