About this app

This app is developed to assist students and enthusiasts who are taking their first introductory course in Linear Algebra and is meant to be used for learning purposes ONLY.

Texts introducing students to Linear Algebra use simple numbers in their examples and exercises with the primary intent of teaching concepts rather than making complicated calculations. As such, this app is meant as a companion for working through such exercises and quickly verifying their results.

To this end, and primarily due to space limitations on a mobile device, this app is constrained in the following ways:
1. Matrices are limited to no more than 6 columns and 6 rows.
2. The precision of matrix elements is limited in terms of how many significant digits are displayed.
3. Your input for a matrix element's value is limited to 5 digits (not including the decimal point or negative sign).
4. Calculated values necessarily have to be rounded up or down so that there is enough room to display all of the matrix's elements.

construction of and operations on matrices is limited to matrices with a maximum of 6 rows and 6 columns.

What’s new

This release (version 1.0.0) includes
functionality for the following basic
matrix operations that one is likely
to encounter in an introductory course
on linear algebra:

* trace of a (square) matrix
* augmenting two matrices
* row echelon form of a martix
* reduced row echelon form of a martix
* determinant of a (square) matrix
* transpose of a matrix
* inverse of a square, non-singular matrix

Additionally:
* matrix arithmetic (+, -, ×)
* basic arithmetic (+, -, ×, ÷) on scalar values
