About this app

Direct file transfer over ad hoc WiFi. No shared network or cell connection required, just two devices with WiFi chips in close range. Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows supported.

Don't have a flash drive? Don't have access to a wireless network? Need to move a file larger than 2GB between different filesystems but don't want to set up a file share? Try it out!

Doesn't work at all. Shows error messages. No operating instructions provided by the developer. Tried every combination ( turning on/off wifi, hotspot on one & both devices, pairing both devices via wifi-direct etc) but none were successful. Just unable to figure out why it won't transfer. Nokia G21 Android 13 (both devices).

Devices should have WiFi on but you don't need to start a hotspot manually or pair via WiFi Direct. Please feel free to report the errors you see at https://github.com/spieglt/FlyingCarpet/issues/new. Edit: I retested Android-to-Android transfers and it's working, so I'll need to see logs to be able to help.

Non-functional. Android 9 - the app closes when starting send operation, no success at all. Android 12 - the app is able to send a couple of MBs but fails the peer connection immediately if the file is a bit larger.

Works great and super quick between ios and Android. Game changer! Maybe some brief instructions would be handy. I didn't realise when you 'choose folder' you're choosing the destination folder for the transfer.
