Practise is the key to mastering any instrument but if you're learning the guitar, you won't always have it with you. With Fretaphone you can improve your muscle memory wherever you have your phone. Why not take a few minutes to improve your skills while waiting for a bus or during your lunch break?
To use Fretaphone, simply hold your phone in your fretting hand with back of the phone where the neck of the guitar would be and your fingers reaching around to the screen to play on the fretboard.
Fretaphone includes features to help you master both chords and scales.
CHORDS:
Library mode, select chords from a list and then place your fingers in the correct position to practice playing. Hear the chord when you get your fingers in the right position.
Identify chords, place your fingers on the strings, mute strings and bar frets and see the name of the chord appear. Strum across the chord name to hear the chord or press on the notes to hear them individually.
Basic and advanced challenge mode. Practice simple or complex chords, see how many you can play before the timer runs out. Keep playing to unlock more chords!
SCALES:
Learning mode, follow the dot over the fretboard to learn the scale, hear the notes as you go.
Timed challenge mode, how many times can you get through the scale before the timer runs out?
Blind challenge mode, can you play the scale with markings on only the root notes? Can you do it without making mistakes?

Keep track of your high score in all modes
Identify chords and scales you need to work on in the ‘records’ section. You’ll be able to see which chords you’ve failed to play quickly enough in challenge mode and how fast and accurate you are on each scale.
Get a good score in challenge modes and you'll earn badges and unlock more chords and scales to learn and play.
Fretaphone was designed with an experienced guitar teacher with learning and progress in mind. Both the chords and scales modes have been developed to help you improve as a guitarist and musician.
ADAPTABILITY:
Fretaphone can be adjusted for left/right handed guitarists and for different screen and hand sizes.
