The Gullwing Trip Monitor App monitors phone movement patterns in the background in a low battery mode. Once the app detects sufficient movement to warrant higher frequency recording (such as driving in a vehicle or cycling) the app activates a higher frequency data recording state, recording accelerometer and GPS data.
This data is turned into "Trips" and scored individually based on good driving behaviour patterns.
