About this app

The HTC Check-In App helps teams and individual participants manage their team for to the Hood and Portland to Coast Relays as well as our One Day Relays. For team based events, the app will help you manage your team roster and pre-check your team safety gear. New this year, the app will allow for a streamlined packet pick-up process! All participants will be required to use the in-app QR code to receive their team and/or individual event packet and bib.

This app does not keep correct distance and time. It stops in the middle of a run. This app sometimes resets to zero miles run but keeps the elapsed time. On a seven mile run, I saw that it was slightly off at the three mile point. Then, around the four mile point(according to my Garmin forerunner) the mileage jumped to twenty miles. At the end, the app recorded a twenty three plus mileage with a pace of two minutes and change. And no, I did not get on a bike or car, just running.

I was very disappointed with my experience with this app during the hood to coast relay. Once you started a person's time there was no way to go back and view the stats of previous runners or to track the cumulative team time. There were multiple ways I found to inadvertently stop the runner's time who was on the course. And to switch timing from one runner to the next required at least six different taps. Why not one button to start the next runner?

Not good. It stops responding part way into the activity. You have to wait until it comes back to do anything. Sometimes it comes back with accurate numbers, other times it zeros out everything. It's a good thing I can manually make corrections to the recorded stats.
