About this app

The chronograph era is over.

This application allows a user to communicate with a Labradar through a bluetooth connection in order to view and manage his shooting data the same way he can from the Labradar device itself. The features this application includes are :

1. Create and delete series
2. Manage the Labradar settings such as units, radar settings, trigger settings, distance settings and shot related settings (such as projectile weight and offset)
3. Receive the shots on the phone or tablet when the Labradar is armed, in real-time.
4. Convert the data to be displayed in the user's preferred scale units of measurement

In addition to those features, it also displays statistics of the series/shots along with graphs displaying various aspect of the data such as the velocity, power factor or the energy of the series/shots.

In order for the application to work properly :
1. Install at least firmware version 1.2.0
2. Do NOT pair the mobile device to the Labradar
3. Enable the location services and accept the permissions upon application startup
4. Make sure the Labradar is not in armed mode while trying to connect to it

After installing the updated version of this app, on opening it simply crashes/stops. Uninstalling and then reinstalling got it to run the first time, but subsequent attempts result in the same crashes. The same problem also occurs on a Samsung tablet I have, so it's not simply a problem with just one device. Emailed support and, as of this review, I still have no acknowledgement of my email, let alone a response to the problem. For me the app is now unuseable.

It's much better than the previous app but still has some issues. 1. The wrong date and time is shown for each series of shots. This arbitrary date and time is the same for all previously shot series. 2. The data from all of the previously shot series disappears from my phone when I reconnect to my labradar. 3. The Bluetooth connection still frequently drops out. However it does reconnect when commanded manually from my phone. I am using latest FW 1.3.3. I have screenshot if required.

The App can use some work. It would be awesome if you could select a previous series and continue with new readings.. or the ability to merge series. I've tried several times to have the LR ask me projectile weight.. it works every 1 in 10 times.. If that's how it's going to work, at least have the ability to change it manually and have it compute the correct energy/PF. An amazing feature would be to have it give you the last reading (vel./dist.) it was able to capture!
