About this app

Light Rider lets you control your DMX lights without needing to program anything. Choose from over 15,000 lighting fixtures and once added, they will bounce, chase, ride, sparkle and perform a light show like youโ€™ve never seen before!

Built on over 25 years of DMX lighting control experience, Light Rider finally puts a great light show into the hands of a working DJ, who might not have the time to spend hours programming scenes before a show. Carefully crafted by Light Riderโ€™s developers and DJs - Move FX are on the left, Color FX on the right, Flash FX in the middle and presets along the bottom. Ride your FX live with the speed, fade, fan, size and shift controls. Sync with the music using audio Pulse analysis and Beat Tap.

Light Rider is compatible with 1 DMX universe (512 channels). To connect the app with your lights, you can use the LR512 WiFi device, or a compatible SUT device with the Light Rider licence.

- Android Screen Sizes:

Light Rider is designed to run on tablets with a screen size of 6.8 inches or higher.
Light Rider has an experimental feature which has been designed to work on smaller screen sizes with a minimum height of 410 Density Independent Pixels (approx 64mm).
Dimensions are an approximation. For guaranteed compatibility we recommend an Android tablet with a screen size of 8 inches or higher.

- Android MIDI Specifications:

To use MIDI with your Android device, you need to be running a minimum OS of Android 6 (Marshmallow).

- Android USB Specifications:

If you wish to connect your Android phone or tablet to an LR512 using USB, and your LR512 is running the latest firmware (FW version 1.0 or greater), then you need to have at least Android 8.

If your phone or tablet is running Android 7.1 or lower, and you wish to use USB, then you need to use a special (older) firmware (FW version 0.26). You can install the appropriate version of Hardware Manager tools from the following locations:

Once you figure this interface out it's way more useful than most "smart" interfaces. Manually this is the best there is in my opinion. I want to figure out a way to get audio input to my Amazon Fire surface to do more. I currently have Soundswitch One as well as the Chauvet 512s. I put this controller (My DmxGo) at the top of the list.

Went round and round for a couple of days trying to purchase a license to use an Art-Net interface. Turns out, you can only use another Art-Net interface if you purchase one of "their" interfaces. And then you still can't use the other interface unless theirs is plugged in. You pay twice, once for the hardware/brick/dongle, and once for the Art-Net license to use any third-party Art-Net devices. App concept is nice, but the vendor / hardware locking isn't worth it.

Hello, If you don't wish to buy our hardware, why should you use other hardware for free? You can buy a cost effective Sushi-DS + Light Rider licence from store.dmxsoft.com. Then using an OTG cable, connect the Sushi & use Light Rider. We don't manufacture Art-Net devices so need to generate revenue from device sales to support the app development.

The app is OK at best. I have the hardware, and have to say it's not great. The interface looks like it should be easy to use and in some regards it is, but lacks RGBW support it seems. None of the colour effects will utilise the white channel so for some moving head effects I have that have a specific white LED it's absolutely no good. For the cost of hardware this is garbage to be honest. Do not waste your money.
