Welcome to the LSV Bible app for Android devices. This Bible app is a simple-to-use, but feature-rich LSV Bible reader with the complete Old and New Testament of the new Literal Standard Version by Covenant Press, just released in 2020.

THE GROUNDBREAKING LITERAL STANDARD VERSION
●A modern, literal, word-for-word (formal equivalence) English translation of the Holy Scriptures. The LSV is the most literal translation of The Holy Bible ever made into the English language, based on Robert Young’s excellent Young’s Literal Translation.
●Preservation of verb tenses wherever possible.
●Utilization of the transliterated Tetragrammaton in the Old Testament. All uppercase LORD is used in the New Testament when a reference to YHWH is likely.
●Unlike most translations, justified typographic alignment consistent with the style of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek biblical autographs. The ancient caesura mark is used for easy readability of poetic literature such as the Psalms.
●Inclusion of the verses found in older English translations such as the King James Version (KJV) that are not found in many modern translations; and inclusion of the alternative LXX Genesis chronology set next to the MT. These are contained within bolded double brackets for distinction.
●Capitalized pronouns and other nounal forms when referring to God, Christ, or the Holy Spirit. References to the Messenger of the LORD are also capitalized when the subject appears to be a clear reference to God or the Messiah (as found in translations such as the NKJV).

I wanna start this by saying that the LSV is probably one of my favorite English translations after just recently discovering it (my Bible is NIV.) It is so poetic and beautiful it really does feel like I'm reading the true word of God as it was originally written (obviously not quite) but for English its awesome. My problem is that the app lags so much it is nearly impossible to use. I think the LSV would do really well if it were added to YouVersion which works really well.

The translators describe this as a literal translation. But it is not. There are yes correct corrections and I applaud that however they still add in the parts in some areas that aren't in thr text. Literalism doesn't allow for "adding" something to the text. An easy example would be in genesis 15 when all other translations say "a dove and a young pigeon/bird" when thats not what the text says. It says "a dove denude of its feathers" there is one bird not two. There are more serious mistakes..

What a great bible app. Very clean and easy to use interface. Love that you can tap each word to get to expanded references. The Good News tab is very useful and a great reminder of our commission to proclaim the Gospel to others. Just starting my exploration of this app and its many gems. Having a literal translation readily available and so easy to use will prove to be an invaluable daily tool. Fantastic effort...thank you
