**Edit** The developer responded with suggestions I already tried. I said in my original post that it used to work, so I obviously know how to do it. The thing just doesn't connect anymore. It worked for a couple smokes, but now I cannot get the app and the probe to work together. I followed the instructions, but it always says Connection Lost. I get to the point where the red and blue flash, but when I remove the probe it doesn't connect. It's junk now.

As I am writing this review, my phone is sending me alerts telling me that I have once again lost connection with the thermometer in my brisket in my oven. This item looks nifty and is easy to start to use. However, if you dare to close the smoker door or the oven door, it disconnects. Shame I ordered it two months before i needed it. It's no longer eligible for a refund... Connectivity issues make it unless. I am shopping for a replacement now.

Unable to prevent the App from always running in the background, even when the Probe is not in use. Ambient temperature reading inaccurate (as was internal temperature reading) leading to an overcooked and inedible roast. Greatly disappointed in this item that I really wanted to like!
