Functions

Using your Network access permissions, the My Shaw app will:
• View connection information and see available Wi-Fi connections to enable the app to connect to the Wi-Fi network;
• Detect the network state, read the device status, detect running apps, view app history and identity to implement network preference.

Using your Photo/Media/Files and Storage permissions, the My Shaw app will:
• Enable you to view a PDF of your bill
• Test access to protected storage for the purpose of facilitating user data retrieval and use of content for registered devices to facilitate technical assistance should network access be denied and to increase the application productivity.

Using the Prevent Device from Sleeping permission, the My Shaw app will:
• Enable push notifications used during Support Chats

Using your device’s fingerprint scanner, the My Shaw app will:
• Link your fingerprint profile to your Shaw account via the app for authentication purposes

Using the payment extension request, the My Shaw app will:
• Send you an email confirmation

More times than not, I'm having to close the app after I open in it because it sits there trying to load my info and does nothing. Once I close and reopen it, it's fine. I also don't like the fact they don't leave a phone number in the support menu. Only text options. Explaining your complicated issues through text is aggravating. Not only that, if you are using the chat, the screen will constantly scroll up for no reason, making you scroll back down after every message you send.

Update 2024/07/19: somehow the worst app I've ever used got even worse. Now I can't log in at all. Update: new look, but it still doesn't work. I thought maybe the merge with Rogers would improve things. Original review: Single use app. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app anytime I want to use it. It will work the first time, but never again. This has been going on for probably 2 years.

The company and service itself is great, but the app is not user friendly. I need to update 2 step verification because my phone number changed so I can't do it on the website. When looking up how to, the first thing it says is to login on the app and go to 'More', which isn't an option. There's no payment arrangement option, can't update address/phone # etc. Every time I need to use the app I have to open it, close and reopen for it to load.
