*The program aims to educate & train clinic support staffs about diabetes to help them evolve as a DE (Diabetes Educators) using “evidence based clinical data and guidelines” specific for India
*A DE is a healthcare professional who is specialized and certified to counsel people with diabetes on how to manage their conditions
*NDEP is backed by DMDEA (Dr’s Mohan Diabetes Education Academy), IADE (Indian Association of Diabetes Educators) and IMA (Indian Medical Associations)
*Dr. V Mohan, Dr. Shashank Joshi & Ms. Shilpa Joshi are the Course Director for NDEP
*NDEP is in 7th year of running
*7500 DEs were created till date across India in over 145 NDEP centers
