The papal lay order, in which clergymen can also be members, has its seat in the Vatican. Originating from a late medieval pilgrimage, the community of Catholic women (religious) and gentlemen (knights) has been taking on tasks in the Holy Land with a focus on Israel, Jordan and Palestine for 150 years under the direction of a Cardinal Grand Master.
The main task is to support Christians in the Holy Land. There the order promotes social and educational projects and facilities such as hospitals, children's and old people's homes or universities. In addition, the members undertake to publicly profess the Catholic faith and to serve society and the Church. The order chooses its members itself, an application is not possible. Political goals are not pursued.
This app is created by the Order Province of Bavaria of the German Lieutenancy and is also administered by them. With the App of the Order Province of Bavaria we want to offer the order members another source of information. For this reason, the app contains categories such as current articles from the Grand Master's Office, the German Lieutenancy, the Order Province and the Commanderies, events of the German Lieutenancy, the Order Province and the Commanderies, pictures of the last events and the Bavarian death table. The information platform is supplemented by useful information such as details of the donation account, the religious prayer and background information.
A personal invitation is required to use the app, followed by a short registration process.
