About this app

Features:
- Free with only one banner ad on the config screen
- Easy to use
- Automatically starts on boot, if it was enabled on last use
- No need to start a game "within" this app
- Root is not needed

This app is easy to use. To get started you need a screenshot of the game you want to map the controller for, first. Next, you add the new game and then, start setting the buttons. Most devices have an easy way to take screenshots. You just need to start the game and take the screenshot while on the screen you will be using the controller for.

Odo Gamepad Mapper was created because I could not get my gamepads to work with android games. Some games are simply not designed with to use them at all, but I was playing games that should work with them, just some buttons wouldn't work. For example: in Rules of Survival, I can use all buttons except the two triggers, which you really need to work to play the game. In Ark Survival Evolved, the D-pad doesn't work, but the rest of the buttons do. So I made this app to allow me to change those missing buttons into taps on the screen. It wasn't easy, but I did get the analog sticks to work too, but there are some problems especially if you have Android 7 (Nougat). No root access is needed. This app is setup as an accessibility service that reads buttons presses and can inject touch events, so the service must be running to work.

This app has only been tested on a few gamepads and Android versions 8(Oreo) and 9(Pie). It should work on most bluetooth gamepads made for mobile, if not all. It should also work on Android versions 7 and higher.

This is a godsend that can be used with any app, not just games. What prevents perfection is that your controller is what needs a service app for hardware layer interface. As such, not every control can be accessed, or the game may not register well. That is not the fault of Odo. My Xbox controller works great. I can play mmorpgs with this! Developers should hire this guy!

This remapper is pretty good! Analogue stick is still "under construction" and can't wait for it to get better! Atm it sometimes goes more to the right than how I have placed it, placing the circle right in the centre of the on screen joystick is a little finicky. I wonder if increasing the size of the centre of the joystick could cause less mistakes and making it less sensitive which can make the joystick more accurate?? Wondering if it will have multitouch support later? Anyways good job!

It almost works. It can map buttons and have them work. This is not true for joysticks, triggers, or the d-pad. It's like a car with no steering wheel: it'll run and everything else, but not do what you need it to. If the app worked fully it would easily be a 5-star app!
