Hello everyone,

We are the family who have taken over the Village Chippy in Warton formally Whelans.

Oliver, our youngest son, is nine years old, he has severe autism, which has left him unable to communicate properly. Several years ago, I was a member of a Facebook forum, and here someone addressed my son as a burden to the state, inferring that Oliver would never be able to work. Although untrue, this comment hit me hard.

My husband Arron , who has previous experience in retail catering saw an opportunity with Whelan's (Warton) which was for sale. So I decided to buy it.

I myself have experience of retail catering and I am passionate about the local community, fundraising and helping local charities.

An aspiration of ours has always been to own our own business together, and this aspiration became more important to us knowing that we could provide a job for our son in the future.

Now you know a little bit more about us, we want to know a bit more about you, we hope you will one day call in at Oliver's Chippy.

If you cannot get to us, we will be offering a delivery service to Warton, Freckleton, and Wrea Green. (Starting with Warton)

As a new business, we have only one driver, but we will soon be advertising for additional members to join our team.

Although Arron has copious amounts of experience in the food sector, he has completed industry-leading training from The National Federation of Fish Fryers to ensure that Oliver's chippy serves only the highest quality food.

We will be offering meal deals which can be viewed in our shop, online or through our app there will also be competitions via our Facebook page – Oliver's Chippy.

We will also be offering a gluten-free option. (See menu)

To promote sustainability, something that is important to us, almost all of our packaging is recyclable. If you purchase one of our reusable bags every time you place an order in store, bring in your reusable Oliver’s Chippy bag you will receive an upgrade on one of your chip portions, free of charge.
