About this game

Othello (also called Reversi) is a classical board game invented in the 1880es.

The game is played by two players who either play with the black or the white pieces. Players take turns placing a piece of their color on an empty square. After a move is made all pieces of the opponent player between the currently played piece and another piece of the current player (forward, backward, sideways and diagnoally) are replaced by pieces of the current player.

A move has to turn at least one piece of the opponent player.

When there is no legal move for one player (s)he skips his/her turn. When both player do not have further legal moves the game ends.

The goal of the game is to have the most pieces of your own color available when the game ends.
