The PCP Patient App offers patients the following functionalities, in agreement with their treating/supervising physician, an outpatient clinic, a medical care center, or a hospital:
· Simple and, above all, secure transmission of authorized access to their personal patient record after confirmation of the privacy policy and terms of use.
· Data storage takes place exclusively in the provider's IT system (practice, outpatient clinic, medical care center, hospital), in a client separate from the main system.
· Data transmission uses the FHIR standard (SSL encryption).
· Access security is based on bearer tokens, which are created using REST methods via the provider's IT system during authentication.
· Overview of all appointments, divided into a list of pending appointments and a list of appointments already completed, with detailed information for each appointment.
· Overview and viewing of released findings (PDF) from the patient record, including printing and forwarding to other media.
· Taking photos directly from the app and integrating them into the patient record.
· Direct and intuitive entry of selected questionnaires, which are automatically transferred to the patient record of the central IT system via FHIR after being saved.
· Initiating a video conference by the physician if the patient is logged into the app. The video conference is conducted using WebRTC, ensuring a peer-to-peer connection between the app and the provider's browser-based IT system (practice, outpatient clinic, medical care center, hospital).
· This app connects to Health Connect upon request to synchronize and evaluate steps and body weight, and provide the user with statistics. These functions are a core component of the app; therefore, the corresponding "Health Connect" permissions are required. Data is used exclusively for the described functions.
