It isn't clear that this can't be used without a Plaud device. "Import" is on the app menu, with an option "from file", but that takes you to "Bind device" and you can't use audio files you already have, nor use your phone's microphone for the input. Therefore I won't consider buying a Plaud device, because not only do they cost more than I've ever paid for a phone, but I can't be sure they'll work with the app. (And unreadable miniature light grey font on white, no dark mode; doesn't bode well.)

The transcription works well, even at relatively low volumes and picks up technical and company names which is impressive. Being able to add speaker names and the voice recognition is also good. Playback can also be controlled from the transcription and is highlighted as it plays. I find the mind maps and summaries useful and the suggested points for further work can also help. Overall Plaud has made life easier and gives the opportunity to focus more on the speaker without taking notes.

I suggest anyone to explore all the templates before generating the AI summaries. They're so good!!! The accuracy is amazing and even if a meeting or lecture is all over the place, it organizes it in a way that makes sense. I ordered a bracelet for the Plaud notepin and used it for a training class where the instructor was walking throughout the room. It still picked up the speaker very well. You'll want to go unlimited.
