I had a lot of trouble verifying my identity using my My Number card because it gave an error saying the name didn't match my ID. I had to delete and recreate my account but I was finally able to do it. If you can clear the ID process, PayPay lets you cash out to your bank account which the other services don't. Still I only really use it because everyone else does, otherwise I don't think I'd bother. Customer service is not helpful.

I would give -1000 starts if I could. Got rejected at least 7 times when I try to renew my residence card. All because of silly reasons. My name doesn't match, my address format doesn't match, my kana name doesn't match. With my SMBC bank card, I just need to upload a picture of the card. With paypay I need to fill in a lot of information without any instructions. Really sucks. Totally discrimination towards foreigners. Do NOT recommend.

I accidentally lost my phone and couldn't retrieve my SIM card, so I lost access to Paypay. There's no other way to change the phone number but to contact them by phone. However, they can't do/won't, don't know how to fix the problem so they told me "Sorry, just make another online customer inquiry." It's been one week, nothing. Daily messages with customer service that don't get anything fixed. The App "My number" confirmation system doesn't work or doesn't work for foreigners with long names.
