Create your own light show using the Philips Motion Effects™ customizable lighting system. Control your lights from your smart phone or tablet using the Motion Effects™ app. The easy to use app allows you to adjust the color, brightness or function of your Illuminate™ lights. Simple Bluetooth connectivity allows for up to 4 sets to be grouped together, and you can choose from 16 functions on each set.

Customize your light show:
• Functions: Choose from one of 16 available functions, with brightness control available on some functions
• Music: Make the lights move to music on your phone, using one of four predetermined flashing sensitivities
• Microphone: Set the app to microphone and watch the lights flash to your voice, or turn on your favorite streaming service to get real-time reaction to music
• Timer: Set multiple timers

Ratings and reviews

The app works as it is supposed to; the timer, brightness, and light mode all have run fine. Occasionally the app forgets the decide or the light don't turn on when I want but it's no big deal. I think all the permissions for the app are to access music on your phone and stuff because of the audio feature. Overall, the app works quite well 95% of the time.

Cannot use it without having location services turned on. It's Bluetooth and my location is not important yet the app is worthless if you don't share your location. Why does Phillips have the need to see my location, when I turn on the lights or what color sequence floats my boat? I am returning these to the store in exactly 5 days unless they can fix this issue. I'll check back and see if they actually.monitor the feedback.

Lights and app worked fine until you turn them off with the app and then unplug them. Now, my lights are stuck in one pattern and are unable to be controlled by the app.
