About this app

This is intended for groups which are out of cell coverage, eg. camping/hiking, and wish to use SMS-like communications.

This app is used in conjunction with a DIY LoRa radio module. Full instructions on how to assemble these are here: https://www.instructables.com/id/LoRa-Mesh-Radio
-Or here-
https://www.hackster.io/scottpowell69/ttgo-lora-mesh-chat-device-37913c

The radios use ECC encryption, so your conversations are completely safe from prying eyes. You can also easily send your GPS location as part of your conversation, and recipient can tap to see where you are on Google maps.

Very promising work so far. It's missing notification. I would like to toss my TTGO T-beam into the top of my pack and have my phone buzz. If a message is received, battery is low, and Bluetooth can't reconnect. Also the firmware could use that Bluetooth MAC address as part of it's name. Display that at boot. Make it easier to tell which unit is which.

I'll put the MAC suggestion on the to-do list. Regarding notifications, the Ripple radio itself will buzz/flash LED when a message arrives. (If you wire up a Piezo buzzer to appropriate pin)

Fantastic idea, but have been unable to exchange messages. Pairing is fine, apps both show connected to boards, each app has a unique ID and same groupID, can scan to add each other (though public key never does match between devices). But sending messages results in "Error unable to send message." Possible that this project doesn't work on 915MHz TTGO T-Beam ESP32 Lora boards?

I have added T-Beam support now. There is a firmware binary here: https://github.com/spleenware/ripple/blob/master/RippleV5-Bluetooth-TBeam.bin

Grate app I have been looking for something like this for a while Reminds me of the Majesco Wireless messenger for the GBA. The only Drawback i have with this is that I have no way to tell if I receive a new message no notification settings. I hope one day you can put this in. Other then that its grate.
