Scan2Ring enables video calls between a bell ringer and bell owner (plus associates). The notification of the video call is delivered via Android’s high priority notifications. The bell itself is simply a QR code which can be printed.
A bell ringer can then initiate a video call with the bell owner by scanning the QR code using their usual method for scanning QR codes (e.g., camera app) and subsequently ringing the bell. The app then receives the video call.
Here are the steps to test a video call without having to print a QR code:
1) Login or create a free account
2) Create a bell
3) Tap on the ‘Video Tokens’ tab and request free video tokens or purchase video tokens
4) Tap on the ‘Bells’ tab
5) Tap on ‘View’ inside the newly created video bell
6) Scan the QR code and tap on the link
7) Tap on ‘Ring Bell’
8) Answer the call with video, audio only, or neither in a stealth mode where only the bell ringer can be seen
You can have your bells on multiple devices, and you can add your family members, housemates, colleagues, etc. to your bells so that the bells can also ring on their devices.
A person ringing a bell (scanning a QR code) does not need the app – they can use their usual means for scanning a QR code (e.g., camera app).
