Easily determine butterfly

The app butterfly makes it possible to determine the most watched butterflies (butterflies and some diurnal moth) of the Alpine region (Switzerland, southern Germany, Austria) in a simple way. In total there are about 100 recognized in expert mode over 300 butterflies.

About typing recognition features (Table features) as wing color, wingspan, distribution and body and wing shape, a selection is made, and then the corresponding the determination criteria butterfly in an overview list (Table results) are displayed with a picture and short description.
Tapping the short description leads to a detailed depiction with enlarged image and closer description of the moth.
In the overview list, a search by name (German or Latin) is integrated and butterflies can be marked as seen.
In the detailed view additional information and pictures for more accurate determination directly from the app in the German Lepiforum (classification keys, proven in Europe butterfly species), on the website-natural and butterflies in the German Wikipedia can be retrieved.

All images and data for a single determination are stored on the device. The app, therefore, is very suitable for travel, if no or only a slow connection to the Internet.
