About this app

Signs of Art is a video guide in Italian Sign Language telling 13 of the masterpieces exhibited at the Modern Art Gallery of Palermo.

The project is the work of patronage Orpheo company and is part of his project dedicated to accessibility museum "Art for All." The video was produced in collaboration with Civita Sicilia and the Association Kiasso, among the most important in Italy for the organization of cultural visits in LIS.

The realization: the texts have been adapted and translated from Italian to Sign Language by the professional association Kiasso and interpreter choice for the video is a deaf person. Subtitles are a translation from the Italian language and signs were accomplished since the video in LIS. The subtitle have, in fact, a fundamental role in supporting deaf people in the understanding of LIS, language unfortunately not yet officially recognized at the national level. In addition, subtitles and background music make videoguide universally accessible to the general public of the museum.
