No matter what I have set I can't get notifications to work. Ex someone sends a message I don't get it unless I open the app

When it works I love it. But the app closes an awful lot when I'm trying to edit the schedule.

this is a great way to view my schedule and it gives me the option to schedule days off without having to bug my boss
