Make a payment, purchase an unlock code, find a service center nearby, or even become a Smart Start client in minutes. Whether you use the Ignition Interlock Device, SMART Mobile device, or are a Check-In client, you can manage your account right from the app.

Ratings and reviews

Horrible experience. I would change this company without hesitation for a couple of specific reasons. First, for the lack of customer service response and having me wait for over 45 minutes, only to hang up without answering anything. Second, for the extra charges they make, an extra $300 that they should have refunded me starting in July 2025.

I hate everything about Smart Start. When you call any of their provided contact numbers, it is nearly impossible to get a live representative on the phone. I thought downloading the client portal would be easier, but I cannot even register for an account. When I open the app and follow the prompts, it sends a registration link to my email. As soon as I click the link it says that the link is expired. I have been going in circles and my only other option is to call and get no real person to help

Spent 1.5 hours on the phone trying to reach customer service. If you're looking to get the deviced installed you can get someone on the phone right away and then they keep bugging until you schedule an install. I finally gave up waiting and downloaded the app like their automated message said to do on the phone. Didn't find the info I was looking for on the app or the website. Noticed there was no icon for the app on my phone. Uninstalled, reinstalled, still no icon. Every IID company is trash.
