About this app

PairDrop for Android is an Androidā„¢ client for the free and open source local file sharing solutions https://pairdrop.net/.

Do you also sometimes have the problem that you just need to quickly transfer a file from your phone to the PC?

USB? - Old fashioned!
Bluetooth? - Much too cumbersome and slow!
E-mail? - Please not another email I write to myself!

PairDrop!

PairDrop is a local file sharing solution which completely works in your browser. A bit like Apple's Airdrop, but not only for Apple devices. Windows, Linux, Android, IPhone, Mac - no problem at all!

However, even if it theoretically would fully work in your browser, you will love this app if you want to use PairDrop more often in your daily life. Thanks to perfect integration into the Android operating system, files are sent even faster. Directly from within other apps you can select PairDrop to share with.

Thanks to its radical simplicity, "PairDrop for Android" makes the everyday life of hundreds of users easier. As an open source project we don't have any commercial interests but want to make the world a little bit better. Join and convince yourself!

Just a free cloud. Needs the same WiFi and the app needs to be installed on both devices. For me useless, who's searching for an interface to basically use Airdrop with my Android device. However, I also saw a video that showed, that you can just go to their website in your Browser (still need same WIFI) and share files without installing the app on both devices. So if you just search for a way to share in general I think you can use it, but then you can also just use the website.

Great when it works, so far only 30% of the time! Servers often too busy! Don't beg us to not give bad reviews. If your app frequently doesn't work you get a bad review! Regardless of whether your app is ad supported or free it should work consistently! If I had paid for this I'd be trying to get a refund by now! I have found a wifi transfer app that transfers from one device to another on the same wifi address. Doesn't require separate severs. No, not willing to give Snapdrop another try!

Hi, we are really sorry about this and we understand this can be frustrating. We have released a new version meanwhile which fixes these problems... Do you want to try it again :)

Snapdrop, on it's own, used to work great and I'd have given it 5/5. However, since it changed to 'Pairdrop' it's a 2/5 at best. Since changing, when I transfer multiple files they get put into a .zip file. When I go to move those files from the .zip file to where I want them, it transfers one file then comes up with an error message. This has happened everytime since the change. They only way it works now is by way of individual transfer...

What's new

snapdrop.net support has been removed due to security and privacy concerns after the website was acquired by an untrusted company. The app now exclusively supports PairDrop as a safer alternative.

Thank you for your understanding!
