About this app
This is the mobile application that belongs to the TERMOT platform. Developed for the Earthquake Claims Organization (SOE), the application primarily aims to record and evaluate building damage after an earthquake event. The app is aimed at experts in damage estimation and building assessment after an earthquake.
For the assessment of building damage and its estimation, experts have access to specific building data from the Swiss Building and Housing Register (GWR). Due to the sensitivity of the data, only authorized experts can log into the application. The experts are verified according to a specific process before a possible earthquake event and are supervised by the Swiss Earthquake Claims Organization (SOE-ODS).
The experts perform either a building assessment, where the habitability and statics of a building are evaluated after an earthquake, or a damage estimate, where the monetary damage to the building is estimated based on the damage event. Both processes are fully organized and coordinated through the TERMOT platform and executed through the TERMOT mobile application.
Depending on the classification, the experts perform either a building assessment or a damage estimate. For both types of assessment, a special module has been developed to support the experts in performing their tasks.
After submitting their work, the data is collected in the TERMOT platform, where it can be viewed by the authorities of the corresponding canton or by the insurers.
The application is active only in case of an activated event on the TERMOT platform and therefore does not contain any active functions without an event. Interested parties can inform themselves about the content and functions of the application via the e-learning content provided by the Earthquake Claims Organization.
