Talking Clock runs in the background and announces the time to you at intervals you choose.

Ever had your hands full washing up or cleaning? Wanted to know the time but not had a clock in sight?
Talking Clock will keep you informed of the time when you can't easily check your phone.

Talking Clock has the following features:
- Uses Android's built in text to speech system to deliver a clear announcement of the time.
- Customisable announcement intervals.
- Customisable announcement speeds.
- Customisable announcement text.
- Runs in the background to allow your device to be doing something else at the same time.
Keep track of the app using the notification icon.
- Respects other audio apps by allow them to pause during the time announcement and then resume straight after.
- Doesn't try to announce the time whilst you are in a call.
- Won't announce the time during Do Not Disturb or if the ringer is on silent by default.
- Uses the alarm volume stream by default, but can be set to use the media volume stream.

Talking Clock is currently only available in English.

One of the best such apps I've found among those available today, but not perfect. It says some times—specifically, anything where the minute is from 0 to 9—in a weird way. For example, 9:00 AM should be read as, "Nine AM", or maybe, "Nine o'clock AM", though that's more awkward. Instead, it comes out as, "Nine. Oh aitch. Clock. AM." And 9:02 AM should be read as, "Nine oh two AM", but is instead rendered as, "Nine. Oh aitch. Two. AM". So, yeah, maybe fix how the input to the TTS is written?

Hi. Just started using this app so still on trial! However, having used a similar app for 2yrs I found it crucial to aid my condition if there was an option to add automatically updated day & date notification to each time one. Any chance of something alike sometime in the near future? Also add a schedule for announcements to set so on in chosen waking hours but silent/reduced overnight. Big plus so far is the simplicity of set up. More stars to come if proves reliable!

Paid for this in hope it would be worth it. It was. Does exactly what I want and continues over night perfectly. The only fault, for me, is it doesn't have a 24 hour option. I don't need to hear if it's AM or PM.
