I often watch continuing medical education courses, in which the volume is suboptimal for discerning much of the information provided, especially with extraneous sounds. Volume Booster Max Pro pretty much makes the volume on my smartphone much easier to understand.

Does exactly what I want with no fuss. Very happy with this. It asks for access to the microphone and notifications permissions but it seems to work okay with all such permissions denied. Works well with my PowerAmp player for my local music library.
