WaldExpert is a mobile information system for owners of small and very small private forests in Baden-Württemberg. The app connects forest owners and advisors. WaldExpert activates, informs, and communicates.

Functions:
- Search for your own forest by parcel or district
- Display the parcel (or district) on a map
- Offline storage of the parcel
- Navigation to the parcel (via navigation app)
- Information about the parcel:
- Area size (not binding)
- Timber volume (estimated)
- CO2 storage (estimated)
- Forest functions
- Protected areas
- Information on funding opportunities for habitat types worthy of protection
- Contact addresses of the responsible forestry organization
- Map display of
- Rescue meeting points in the forest
- Vulnerability of current forest stands based on climate impact research
- Annual climatic reference maps
- WaldWiki with explanations of the presented topics

WaldExpert is a specialized application of the Baden-Württemberg State Forestry Administration on behalf of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection (MLR). WaldExpert was conceived by the Baden-Württemberg Forest Research Institute (FVA) and developed by herzog kommunikation GmbH. Technical operation and support are provided by the State Office for Geoinformation and Rural Development (LGL).
