This is a great idea. There is one flaw for me. My web image is generated every 15 minutes. Pretty much exactly every 15 minutes. This program updates the widget every 15 minutes exactly. So I sometimes encounter a blank widget, as the widget is being created at the same time that it is trying to grab it. So it fails. I need finer control of the update time for it to work for me. 9/24/2025. Now a new issue. It is not updating in the background at all now. Not sure what is going on.

Otherwise quite good, but should have an option to open the image full screen for zooming in and out. Also, widget always stops working after restarting the device (Android 10), and nothing helps except removing and creating the widget again.

This handy little app puts a National Weather Service radar snapshot of my region on my home screen (from forecast.weather.gov). The image is the most recent frame of an NWS animated gif that also marks in color code any weather alerts in my area. The app updates the image automatically every 15 minutes or on demand with two taps on the widget. Nice!
