About this app

dot Customizer is a free application for using with compatible embroidery machines.

With this app, you can create and edit embroidery designs and send them directly to the machine for embroidering. Great embroidery fun for everyone from beginners to experts!
 
What you can do:
· Simply choose any of the built-in designs and send wirelessly to the embroidery machine for stitching out (no need for cords or USB sticks to transfer designs).
· Combine embroidery designs with letters/words to create original designs.
· Add embroidery to other projects.
· Create original lettering designs with your favorite fonts.
Main features:
· 260 built-in embroidery designs from a range of categories
· 12 different English fonts plus one Japanese font (incl. Kanji)
· 2 different modes including easy-to-use "Beginner level"
· A variety of editing functions: copy/paste/resize/stitch density adjustment/color selection/positioning etc.
· Embroidery simulation and trace functions to check the position on the fabric before stitching out
 

Ratings and reviews

This is one of the worst apps I have ever used and I'm an I.T. professional. I was able to get it working after a couple hours of rebooting my phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing my cache, etc., but... I would not recommend that people with limited computer\phone skills try to use it. It really is the most user-UNfriendly app I've ever seen. I had trouble getting the app connected to the machine and even when the app seemed to be working, it would disconnet, lock up, crash... It was just a nightmare to use. Also, I tried installing this app on my Kindle, but there is no app ini the Amazon App Store. I would've liked to use it from my kindle, because I had to keep my phone available for the dot app. I can't minimize the app as it shuts down and the machine stops. So, I couldn't use my phone for anything else while emdroidering. That makes it very inconvenient.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I'm not someone with extensive tech knowledge, though I do use this app with my embroidery machine and don't generally have a problem. You are able to add whatever designs you want into the app, so I will either buy or download free ones and then add it to the app. It works best when near my wireless internet, so I use it in the rooms that are closer. It does what it's supposed to do.

Works good , but every now and then crashes and that means nothing can be done until it is up and running again . Hard to organise a schedule to get a few things done , when someone else is in control of my machine . Pretty sure that wasn't part of the deal when I bought it . Thought I would use it , WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT . Fix these issues , as you can see I am not alone in the issues I'm having . When its working 5 stars , when its not , a zero , as you have nothing to rate 😪🤬
