iOptron Commander Lite is not reliable and crashes repeatedly under all sorts of conditions and circumstances. One of the more annoying things is that crashes if you switch to another app (like checking a compass or the time), so that you have to kill it and restart. Unfortunately Commander Lite is the only way to send your time/date/location information to a SkyHunter mount, or manage the Zero Position when in Alt-Az mode. Otherwise, I ditch it in favor of SkySafari Pro--which connects easy!

The app crashes constantly, requiring a restart and often re-zeroing. The slew controls won't work, requiring the "button" to be held down for some time for the mount to move at any speed. This often creates a backlog of commands given that then issue to the mount all at once, so the scope slews wildly. Then the app crashes again.

I gave this app a chance with my Skyhunter mount connected via WiFi but it would work, say, in plus Dec or RA and then not work in the reverse sense. Because Skysafari works consistently I have removed this app from my Samsung phone.
