o2 Online Protection Plus. Your digital life, fully protected.

This app is part of the o2 Online Protection Plus product and offers enhanced protection for your devices.

With o2 Device Security powered by McAfee (formerly o2 Protect by McAfee), your devices receive enhanced protection against viruses and spam SMS messages, as well as a VPN for secure surfing on unfamiliar Wi-Fi networks. You can find the full range of features below.

o2 Device Security powered by McAfee is part of o2 Online Protection Plus. As of September 2025, o2 Protect by McAfee will no longer be marketed, but existing customers can continue to use the product. All information can be found here: http://o2.de/protect

Please note:
Book o2 Online Protection Plus before installation at https://g.o2.de/onlineschutz-plus. You will then receive all necessary information and links via email and SMS.

For your first-time login, copy your activation code (available here: g.o2.de/myprotect) and enter it in the app after installation under "Already have a subscription?".

Downloading and using the "o2 Device Security by McAfee" app is subject to McAfee's license agreement and privacy policy. By downloading and using "o2 Device Security by McAfee," you accept McAfee's license agreement and privacy policy.

A separate McAfee account is required for use.

o2 Device Security uses the Accessibility Service API to access information about the websites you visit. This allows us to protect you from malicious websites in real time.

Features of the "o2 Device Security by McAfee" app:

Antivirus - Virus Scanner and Cleaner
Protect your personal data and compatible devices from viruses with the antivirus scanner and cleaner. McAfee's antivirus security scan and virus cleaner protect against viruses, malware, and more.

Secure VPN
Protect your personal information and location anywhere with Wi-Fi encryption that makes your data unreadable to prying eyes, increasing your online security and privacy. The secure VPN keeps private information private with VPN encryption, allowing you to hide your location with McAfee Security's VPN and proxy.

SMS Fraud Detection
Protect yourself against scams in SMS messages: o2 Device Security powered by McAfee detects suspicious links in SMS messages and warns you before you click them. Risky websites are automatically blocked, even if you accidentally click on a dangerous link.

Safe Browsing
Avoid risky websites, links, and files while browsing the internet and protect your devices and the personal data on them. You can browse safely with your preferred browser—we automatically block malicious websites for you. Safe Browsing warns you when you visit malicious websites and protects you from phishing. It helps keep your data private.

Wi-Fi Scan
Receive timely notifications when you try to connect to an unsecured network, so you can select a different network or activate the secure VPN.
