About the app:

Collabora Office for Android uses the same engine as LibreOffice for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This, combined with a new front-end based on Collabora Online, reads and saves documents similarly to LibreOffice desktop.

Collabora Engineers Tor Lillqvist, Tomaž Vajngerl, Michael Meeks, Miklos Vajna, Jan Holešovský, Mert Tümer and Rashesh Padia have been developing Android support since 2012, with the help of Google Summer of Code students Andrzej Hunt, Iain Billet and Kaishu Sahu.

Perfect application for viewing and editing OpenDocument formats. A good companion app with Nextcloud for editing remote documents. I took stars off because I couldn't find a fit-to-screen view like in Word or Google Docs (I'll keep looking). Also, selecting blocks of text hides the keyboard rather than opening a "right-click" menu, making it difficult to edit. Finally, I'd like to easily move documents written on my phone to my Nextcloud.

Good app. Does what it is supposed to. I think some recent reviews are missleading. We use LibreOffice att our office and have had Collabora Office on our phones for years. It is perfect for opening .odt and .ods docs on the go for viewing and an occational last minute edit; like a typo or a few words. It is built directly from LibreOffice, so you can be sure the formatting looks exactly like in the desktop version and saved edits don't risk messing up anything in the original document.

I gave it a good shot despite the bad reviews. I really wanted to like it, because an ad-free app that doesn't siphon all your personal information and spies on you is always welcome, but it's borderline unusable. The app is glitchy, buggy, and sometimes doesn't even launch. The standard spreadsheet options are extremely limited and sometimes don't even work. The keyboard randomly disappears, cells don't accept changes or are randomly overwritten to name some. As is, it's just not a good app.

What’s new

Heya! Good to see you again, loyal release-notes-readers. This release we've made some improvements to our selection handles - though we know they're still a little clunky and have some more fixes planned. We've also made some improvements to how the notebook bar works in tablet mode.

You can find the code that was used to build this release on our GitHub: this release is based on code from Collabora Online 25.04.5
