About this app

The surtitle app Burgtheater PROMPT allows you to read along during the performance in English, German and, in some cases, other languages. It is aimed at non-German-speaking guests and hard-of-hearing audiences.
In the performance schedule at www.burgtheater.at you will find the performances with the note “mit Übertitel-App PROMPT”.

When you are sitting in your seat on the evening of the performance, open the app.
The app will guide you through the next steps: activate your flight mode and switch on your wifi. Burgtheater PROMPT automatically connects to our app network: LIBRBURG. If your smartphone does not support automatic wifi connections, please select the LIBRBURG network manually in the settings.
Then select the desired subtitling language and you're done!
If there is still some time before the performance starts, you can also read information about the play directly in the app.
The countdown starts shortly before the performance begins: turn your cell phone to the right. The surtitles are displayed in white on a black background so that your neighbors are not disturbed.

Please note that at least Android 4.4 and a screen diameter of 4,8 inches is required.

Ratings and reviews

Does not work when you need it, even though the personnel set it up. Don't go to burgtheater if you don't speak German. Our tickets were wasted.

If you don't speak German, stay away from burgtheater. This app doesn't work.

Using the during performance was quite easy and convenient. Being able to follow the libretto from my phone was a far better experience then trying to read it upfront from my back seat.
